Executive ‐ Health & Safety (Based at Thulhiriya) Strategically located within Sri Lanka’s Industrial Zone in Thulhiriya, TEXO is a fabric processing mill, offering value adding services such as dyeing, finishing and printing of cotton-based fabrics to global brands. Along with TEXO’s capability of providing customized orders, this MAS owned entity also benefits from the cost and sustainability advantage of being located within the MAS Fabric Park. We are on the lookout for a dedicated individual to execute and implement compliance and safety related initiatives across the SBU whilst effectively meeting organization’s internal compliance standards to ensure that the company’s Health and safety effort enhances business performance and support the long-term interests of the organization. Key Responsibilities: Safety walk –Identify hazards, risks and initiate corrective action (check medical room, canteen and check if the fire panel is functioning also). Prepare for forthcoming Internal, External, customer audits. Check the existence of the need for Visual displays pertaining to Compliance at the plant and bridge the gap. Organize and conduct internal compliance audits. Recommend improvements to current procedures, follow new instructions introduced by the cluster management. Implement, monitor, and sustain international standards, practices in health and industrial safety in all areas. Facilitate timely conduction of Customer Compliance audits and Certifications as per the given guidelines for the organization by liaising with the external parties, Certification bodies and relevant plant representatives. Update the compliance intranet on a regular basis whilst, uploading relevant information regarding audits to factory database. Promote and contribution to the OHS targets (Assuring own employees and 3rd party workers following the defined OH&S Work Instructions, Assuring the proper preventive actions related to Safety Alerts and assuring on proper toolbox talks for all working groups, ensure all OHS related trainings are conducted, and competency requirements completed based on the defined plan, Conducting Safety observation, Task observation tours, Reporting and correcting hazards, Maintaining a good safety record. Knowledge and Skills: Degree in in Human Resource Management or Compliance or Health and Safety. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Good at MS Excel. Strong decision making, problem solving and team coordination skills.
