Field Service Engineer

Your Key Responsibilities Identify target market sectors and customers and their future requirements. Provide product, service, technical and engineering information to customers. Service and develop assigned accounts through planned customer visits.Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities (e.g., bearings to ILS, condition monitoring and services). Support the preparation of RFQs, target prices, market information and related customer documents. Work closely with Technical, Customer Service, Pricing, Product Management and SCM to ensure KPI alignment. Gain customer acceptance by demonstrating cost reductions and operational improvements using Engineering Based Selling methodologies. Convert opportunities identified during field visits into customers through technical engagement and solution demonstrations. Coordinate closely with Sales Engineers and Sector Leads on account plans and new account ownership. Provide technical advice and expertise on bearing and service products to MRO customers. Sell and perform on-site services including: Bearing mounting supervision, Condition monitoring services, Troubleshooting, Damage analysis reports & Training Deliver strong after-sales support to improve customer retention and grow share of wallet. Develop customer competency through technical seminars and training. Maintain professional and technical expertise through training, networking and professional associations. Act as an interface between international technical experts and customer stakeholders. Prepare and submit customer forecasts and budget planning. Collaborate with: Sector Management,Distribution Management,Customer Service,Supply Chain Management,Key Account Management,Engineering,Product Management Support working capital management through timely debt collection and customer forecast planning.Update Salesforce.com with: Account activities,Service reports & Pipeline updates Perform other duties assigned by the superior related to the role Your Qualifications Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or related Engineering discipline. Good hands-on technical skills. Experience 4 to 6 years of relevant sales and field service experience. Proven track record in: Account management Customer retention Business growth within existing accounts Experience with: Mechanical rotating equipment Condition monitoring Rotating equipment servicing Troubleshooting Bearing technology Experience in a reputable multinational company (MNC) is preferred. Proficient in condition-based monitoring. Vibration Analyst Category II (ISO 18436-2) preferred, or willingness to obtain certification within the first year. Strong technical aptitude and willingness to develop product knowledge. IoT / Industrial Lifetime Solution (ILS) mindset. Proficient in: Microsoft Word Microsoft Excel Microsoft PowerPoint CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) Holds NIOSH Safety Passport or willing to obtain site safety certifications. Personal and Commercial Competencies Strong self-initiative, responsibility and accountability. Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism. Excellent communication and networking skills. Ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all organizational levels. Strong business negotiation and presentation skills. Long-term customer relationship management ("farmer" mindset). Ability to identify and close new business opportunities. Persistent, proactive and can-do attitude. Competent in value-based selling and strategic sales approaches. Strong project management, execution and follow-through skills. Intercultural awareness and ability to work in an international environment. Other Requirements Willing to travel extensively throughout Malaysia, including remote mill and plant sites. Possess a valid driving licence. Fluent in English.
