Mechatronics Test Engineer, Hardware Verification and Validation

Inabia is seeking a Mechatronics Test Engineer to lead the creation and execution of test programs, plans, and methods for subsystem and complete system verification and validation tests. This role supports new technology and product development programs in robotics and automation, encompassing test bench design, instrumentation selection, data processing, and results reporting. The successful candidate will transform raw measurement data into clear engineering insights that directly drive design decisions.ResponsibilitiesIdentify appropriate test plans and equipment requirements based on program development stageDesign, commission, and operate test benches for robotic systems including actuators, batteries, sensors, and camerasPerform complete system verification and validation testing to ensure successful development of new robotics and automation technologies and productsProcess and analyze test data to determine performance metrics against defined specificationsCreate detailed test reports that compare results against specifications and feed findings back into the design cycleSupport multiple new technology and product development programs concurrentlyCollaborate with engineers across mechanical, electrical, software, and systems disciplinesKey QualificationsExperience developing functional specifications, design verification plans, and functional test proceduresExperience developing test strategies and plans for complex hardware/software systems or systems of systemsDemonstrated ability to develop and execute tests within a high-ambiguity environmentPreferred QualificationsMaster's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent fieldExperience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept through productionExperience managing technical projects including scheduling, scope, and deliverable trackingExperience selecting, sourcing, and setting up lab equipment from third-party vendors
