The opportunity CSIRO’s Indigenous Research Governance team is seeking an Officer – Indigenous Research Governance to support respectful, effective and accountable engagement with Indigenous science activities across the organisation. In this role, you will work with the Indigenous Research Governance team, researchers and Research Units to support the implementation, administration and monitoring of policies, systems and processes that contribute to best practice in Indigenous science. You will coordinate reporting and records, maintain established tools and systems, and provide practical administrative and logistical support for team activities, internal forums and events. You will bring cultural capability grounded in Indigenous ways of knowing, being and doing, developed through lived experience as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person, together with strong administration, collaboration and communication skills. Your high-level duties will include: Coordinating monitoring, record keeping and reporting on Indigenous science activity across CSIRO. Maintaining digital dashboards, maps, tagging protocols and other established reporting systems. Providing administrative, logistical, travel and financial support for Indigenous Research Governance events and activities. Supporting internal forums, including Communities of Practice and Indigenous science symposiums. Assisting the Indigenous Research Governance team with the administration of the Indigenous Science funding processes and committee activities. Work collaboratively with team members and multidisciplinary teams across CSIRO to deliver activities that support CSIRO’s Indigenous Science and Engagement objectives. Location: Open to all Australian capital cities. Other locations may be considered. Salary: AU$76,068 – AU$96,813 plus 15.4% superannuation Tenure: Indefinite; Full-time Reference: 104176 As the successful candidate, you will bring: Cultural capability grounded in Indigenous ways of knowing, being and doing, developed through lived experience as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person. Demonstrated experience providing accurate, high-quality administrative, secretariat and project support, including maintaining records and contributing to quantitative and qualitative reporting. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and respectfully, build productive relationships and engage effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff, colleagues and stakeholders. Sound judgement and problem-solving skills, including the ability to interpret policies and procedures, resolve routine administrative or technical matters, and seek advice or escalate issues when appropriate. Ability to use and maintain the technical tools, platforms and systems that support accurate record keeping, data entry and reporting. Sound written and oral communication skills, including the ability to contribute effectively to reports, presentations and discussions.
