In the exciting opportunity, you will utilise your design management and coordination skills to support the successful delivery of major rail infrastructure projects from concept development through to commissioning. Working within a complex, multidisciplinary environment, you will collaborate with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders to coordinate design activities, manage project interfaces and help drive project outcomes. About the Opportunity: This fixed-term position is available through to 31 January 2032, offering the opportunity to be a part of a transformational project from planning to delivery. Working within a flexible and collaborative project environment, you will work across a variety of locations including Queensland Rail ‘s Carseldine Office, Transport and Main Roads and Queensland Rail CBD offices, client offices and project sites. The successful candidate will enjoy a dynamic work environment and be comfortable adapting their work location to meet project and stakeholder requirements. Salaries are between $151k-162k + super . You can expect some of your responsibilities to include: Coordinate the delivery of design-related activities across the full project lifecycle, supporting the successful planning, development, construction, testing, commissioning and handover of major and complex rail infrastructure projects. Lead the development of detailed documented staging strategies for multidisciplinary works in consultation with associated disciplines and operational stakeholders. Interpret applicable standards and procedures, ensuring they apply in the given circumstance and where necessary, develop project specific guidelines and procedures. Engage with business Subject Matter Experts and operational stakeholders to obtain specialist technical and operational knowledge that informs rail asset design development and project delivery. Identify, interpret and apply relevant rail standards, specifications and procedures to validate requirements, support design decisions and ensure compliance with business and operational needs. Facilitate the effective exchange of design and project information across multidisciplinary teams, clients and stakeholders, ensuring documentation is managed and communicated in a timely, accurate and consistent manner in accordance with project governance and document control requirements. What you can bring to the role: High level of project management skills in the co-ordination, organisation, administration and supervision of major and/or complex engineering and operational systems construction projects from concept planning to completion. Demonstrated ability to lead and coordinate collaborative project teams, ensuring effective delivery of customer-focused project outcomes. Sound understanding of rail operations, safe working practices, and the principles and application of modern signalling and train protection systems. High level of written and oral communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills. Demonstrated ability to engage, influence and build effective working relationships with Subject Matter Experts, operational stakeholders, clients and multidisciplinary teams to achieve successful project outcomes. Strong analytical and technical skills in researching, interpreting and applying rail standards, specifications and procedures to support compliant, practical and operationally focused design solutions.
