He angitūtanga: The opportunity Auckland Council’s Procurement team has an opportunity for a Procurement Specialist, Systems and Digital to join our Strategic Procurement function. This role sits at the intersection of procurement, data and technology, helping us improve how procurement information, systems and digital tools are used across the organisation. You will work closely with procurement teams, data specialists and business stakeholders to develop meaningful reporting and insights, strengthen data governance and quality, enhance procurement systems and processes, and support the delivery of our Procurement Digital Strategy. A key focus will be turning procurement data into practical insights that support better decision making. You will also contribute to digital solutions and continuous improvement initiatives that make our procurement processes simpler, more effective, and easier to use. He kōrero mōu: About you You will be passionate about using business intelligence, reporting and data to drive better decisions and business outcomes. You will bring strong analytical capability, commercial thinking and the ability to turn complex information into clear, practical insights. You will have demonstrated experience developing and implementing data governance frameworks, standards or governance expectations, along with a strong understanding of data quality and reporting. Success in this role will also require strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills. You will be confident building relationships across different teams and levels of the organisation and able to communicate complex or technical information clearly to non-technical audiences. You will bring: • Experience supporting change, transformation or continuous improvement initiatives • Excellent analytical, problem solving and critical thinking capability • Strong commercial acumen and an understanding of the procurement lifecycle • Curiosity, an innovative mindset and a commitment to continuous learning and improvement • Experience with Microsoft 365 and business intelligence tools such as Power BI, with exposure to DAX, SQL or similar technologies advantageous A relevant tertiary qualification and CIPS membership or equivalent professional accreditation would be advantageous. Ngā kawenga matua: Key responsibilities In this role, you will: • Develop and maintain high quality procurement data, standards and performance metrics • Deliver procurement reporting and business intelligence that provides meaningful and actionable insights • Support procurement master data quality, including vendor and contract information • Contribute to digital solutions and Procurement Digital Strategy initiatives • Identify opportunities to continuously improve procurement systems, processes, tools and ways of working • Develop and enhance procurement tools, templates and digital processes • Provide technical support, training and capability development across procurement systems and tools • Build strong partnerships across procurement, data teams, Council Controlled Organisations and the wider business • Support accurate, transparent and compliant internal and public procurement reporting Ngā āhuatanga kei a mātou: What we offer You will be joining a collaborative procurement function with an opportunity to influence how data, technology and digital capability shape the future of procurement at Auckland Council.
