JOB OVERVIEW As the Property Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of National Capital Commission (NCC) properties, ensuring they are maintained to the highest standards of quality, safety, and functionality. You will manage all aspects of property operations, including client and tenant relations, maintenance and repairs, occupational health and safety, building security, and seasonal activities. You will coordinate operational and construction projects, provide technical expertise in the development and implementation of work plans, and act as the primary point of contact for clients and occupants by responding to requests and concerns in a timely and professional manner. You will also ensure 24-hour emergency coverage for assigned properties and respond to emergencies and service disruptions, such as floods, power outages, and equipment failures. In addition, you will advise teams on tenant eviction requirements and procedures, as well as key property-related considerations to support the development of eviction strategies. You will oversee pre-leasing fit-up requirements and coordinate capital and operational work programs with the Projects and Leasing teams, as well as external vendors. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in business administration, real estate management, or project management, or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience. EXPERIENCE Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in property or facilities management, including: • Overseeing all aspects of the leasing process, including pre-leasing preparations, advertising, property showings, lease negotiations, and lease execution. • Managing service contracts and providing direction to contractors and in-house building operations staff. • Identifying operational requirements and developing requests for qualifications, statements of work, or minor scopes of work. • Reviewing quotations, tender submissions, spec drawings, environmental reports, architectural reports, and engineering reports. KNOWLEDGE • Of asset management practices and techniques. • Of municipal, provincial, and federal codes, regulations, and standards applicable to real property. • Of methods, techniques and practices for planning, developing, procurement, monitoring and reporting on budgets and expenditures. ABILITIES • To analyze, assess, and resolve a variety of problems. • To negotiate effectively with stakeholders. • To respond to emergencies, service requests, and concerns in a timely and professional manner. • To oversee contractors and manage service contracts. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT • Possess or eligible to obtain Secret security clearance. • Language profile: Bilingual BBB. • Possess a valid driver’s licence and a good driver’s abstract. • On-call and afterhours work required. • Position is in the National Capital Region. The person selected for this position must reside within a commutable distance that allows easy travel to the various workplaces and sites. • The National Capital Commission offers a hybrid and flexible work environment.
