What would you do as our Strategic Buyer - Electronics and Supply Chain As our Strategic Buyer – Electronics & Supply Chain, you will play a key role in developing and managing a competitive, resilient and scalable global electronics supply chain for our innovative security products. Reporting to the Head of Supply Chain & Operations, you will take ownership of strategic sourcing and the commercial management of electronic components, PCBAs, EMS providers and key supply chain partners. Working collaboratively with Operations, R&D, Production, Product Management, Quality and Finance, you will ensure continuity of supply, drive cost reduction initiatives and support the successful delivery of new product developments. You will also: Develop and implement sourcing strategies for electronic components, PCBAs and materials, while negotiating pricing, lead times and commercial agreements with suppliers and distributors. Build and maintain strong relationships with component manufacturers, distributors and EMS providers, while monitoring supplier performance across quality, cost, delivery and service metrics. Identify and mitigate supply chain risks including component shortages, obsolescence, extended lead times and single-source dependencies through effective sourcing strategies. Partner with R&D and Product Management teams during new product development, providing sourcing expertise, cost analysis and support for cost reduction initiatives. Drive continuous improvement by analysing BOMs and market trends, delivering cost savings, ensuring global sourcing compliance and enhancing overall supply chain performance. The skills and experience you need We are looking for someone who has: Significant strategic purchasing experience within the electronics industry , with strong knowledge of electronic components, manufacturers and distribution channels. Demonstrable experience managing EMS providers , international suppliers and sourcing from China and other global markets. Strong understanding of BOM management, component lifecycle, NPI, VAVE, cost reduction and supply-chain risk management. Strong commercial, negotiation, analytical and project-management skills, ideally with experience in electronic security, IoT or connected electronic products Is familiar with local compliance and regulatory requirements for the UK and Irish markets.
