Req ID: 393047 NTT DATA strives to hire exceptional, innovative and passionate individuals who want to grow with us. If you want to be part of an inclusive, adaptable, and forward-thinking organization, apply now. We are currently seeking a Systems Integration Specialist Advisor to join our team in Bangalore, Karnātaka (IN-KA), India (IN). Job Description About this role: Wells Fargo is seeking a hands-on Principal Engineer to lead technical research, design, coding, implementation, and execution for Research and Systems Engineering (RSE). This role is ideal for a senior engineer who can move from strategy and architecture into working code, technical prototypes, test environments, and proof-of-concept solutions. The Principal Engineer will evaluate emerging technologies by building and testing them, determine how they can operate within Wells Fargo’s available platforms, architecture, security, risk, infrastructure, and engineering constraints, and provide expert recommendations grounded in direct technical evidence. In this role, you’ll be expected to personally develop prototypes, write and review code, design technical solutions, configure and integrate technologies, execute tests, troubleshoot issues, and document findings. You’ll work closely with architects, platform owners, security and risk partners, and engineering teams to understand what is currently available within Wells Fargo, identify gaps or limitations, and determine whether a technology can be adopted, adapted, integrated, or should not move forward. Success requires strong engineering depth, curiosity, disciplined experimentation, sound technical judgment, and the ability to convert proof-of-concept results into practical implementation guidance. In this role, you will: Lead hands-on design, coding, configuration, integration, testing, troubleshooting, and implementation for RSE research and proof-of-concept initiatives. Build working prototypes and reference implementations that validate technical feasibility, integration requirements, performance, security, resiliency, operability, and enterprise applicability. Write production-quality or near-production-quality code, automation, APIs, scripts, infrastructure definitions, test harnesses, and integration components needed to evaluate new technologies. Design and execute structured proofs of concept with defined technical questions, success criteria, assumptions, test scenarios, risks, dependencies, and measurable results. Install, configure, and test emerging technologies in approved environments using the platforms, tools, services, access models, and infrastructure available within Wells Fargo. Evaluate how proposed technologies align with Wells Fargo architecture, engineering standards, security controls, risk requirements, network patterns, identity and access models, data requirements, observability capabilities, and support processes. Identify technical gaps, constraints, integration challenges, required exceptions, operational impacts, and dependencies that may affect enterprise adoption. Provide expert, evidence-based recommendations on whether a technology should be adopted, adapted, integrated with existing capabilities, further tested, or not pursued. Translate proof-of-concept outcomes into implementable designs, reference patterns, reusable code, technical decision records, test evidence, runbooks, and engineering guidance. Partner with architects to validate target-state designs and ensure proposed patterns can be implemented within existing enterprise capabilities and constraints. Work directly with engineering teams to demonstrate solutions, resolve implementation issues, review code and designs, and guide the transition from experimental work to supported delivery. Guide platforms toward standard implementation models by developing reusable components, common APIs, automation patterns, integration approaches, and reference configurations. Perform technical comparisons of products, frameworks, platforms, and architectural approaches using repeatable evaluation criteria and hands-on testing. Conduct performance, scalability, reliability, failure, security, interoperability, and operational-readiness testing appropriate to the technology being evaluated. Prototype and evaluate capabilities across RSE focus areas, including artificial intelligence, accelerated computing, GPU infrastructure, integration services, automation, operating systems, image lifecycle, OpenShift, platform engineering, and modernization technologies. Lead technical execution across the full experimentation lifecycle, from research and environment setup through design, build, test, findings, recommendation, and transition. Create clear white papers, opinion papers, executive briefs, architecture diagrams, code examples, test results, and technical recommendations based on hands-on findings. Mentor engineers through pairing, code and design reviews, technical workshops, demonstrations, and practical implementation guidance. Anticipate technical obstacles, lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis, and make informed tradeoffs across feasibility, business value, risk, cost, delivery speed, and long-term sustainability. Stay current on emerging engineering technologies and continuously test their relevance against Wells Fargo’s current and future enterprise ecosystem. Required Qualifications: 7+ years of Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education. 7+ years of Technology Infrastructure Engineering and Solutions experience. 7+ years of hands-on software development, systems engineering, platform engineering, infrastructure engineering, or architecture implementation experience. 5+ years designing, coding, integrating, testing, and troubleshooting complex enterprise applications, platforms, infrastructure services, or distributed systems. 5+ years creating technical prototypes, proofs of concept, reference implementations, automation, or reusable engineering components. Experience evaluating new technologies within enterprise architecture, security, risk, infrastructure, operational, and support constraints. Experience developing in one or more programming or scripting languages such as Python, Go, Java, JavaScript, PowerShell, Bash, or equivalent languages. Experience with source control, automated testing, CI/CD, APIs, infrastructure automation, observability, and technical documentation. In-depth knowledge of enterprise infrastructure technologies, including cloud, virtualization, containers, operating systems, networking, storage, security, automation, or distributed systems. Desired Qualifications: Demonstrated ability to independently take an emerging technology from initial research through environment setup, coding, integration, testing, evaluation, and documented recommendation. Experience building proof-of-concept solutions using Kubernetes, OpenShift, cloud or hybrid infrastructure, artificial intelligence platforms, GPU or accelerated computing, automation frameworks, operating systems, or platform services. Experience with RESTful APIs, Infrastructure as Code, GitOps, CI/CD, containers, image pipelines, policy automation, telemetry, and platform integration patterns. Experience designing test plans and executing functional, integration, performance, scalability, reliability, failure, security, and operational-readiness testing. Ability to assess technical feasibility and enterprise fit using direct evidence rather than vendor claims or conceptual analysis alone. Experience producing reusable code, reference designs, technical decision records, implementation guidance, runbooks, white papers, and executive recommendations. Ability to explain constraints and tradeoffs clearly to architects, engineers, product partners, risk stakeholders, platform owners, and senior leaders. Strong code review, design review, debugging, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis skills. Strong mentoring and technical leadership skills, including pairing with engineers and leading practical workshops or demonstrations. A hands-on research and engineering mindset with a focus on practical experimentation, disciplined execution, enterprise compatibility, and measurable technical outcomes.
