About the role As Analyst – Cyber Defence, you’ll help strengthen Origin’s security resilience by monitoring threats, investigating suspicious activity and responding to incidents across endpoint, network, identity and cloud environments.You’ll work with technology and business teams to contain threats, improve detections and keep security tools operating reliably. Your investigative skills and practical judgement will help turn security signals into timely action. Key responsibilities Monitor and tune security tools, triaging alerts and escalating threats based on risk and business impact. Investigate incidents, gather evidence and coordinate containment and response actions with system owners. Conduct proactive threat hunting using telemetry, behavioural analysis and logs to uncover suspicious activity and control gaps. Assess threat and vulnerability advisories, supporting priority responses and improvements to security controls. Maintain reliable security tooling and clear investigation records, sharing insights to improve detections and operational processes. About you You’re curious, analytical and calm under pressure. You enjoy investigating complex issues, learning new techniques and working with others to resolve problems. You’ll bring: Hands-on cyber security experience or substantial experience in a related technology field, such as OT, cloud, end-user computing or network infrastructure. Familiarity with SIEM, EDR, cloud security tools and log analysis.Working knowledge of cloud, identity and endpoint security, vulnerabilities and attacker techniques. Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to prioritise and make sound decisions under pressure. A relevant degree in Information Security, IT, Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
