Assistant Project Officer Location: Parramatta with access to hybrid working arrangement Full time Temporary opportunity unit 30 June 2027 (35 hours per week) Salary from $102,936 to $129,492 pa. + super and annual leave loading This position is open to Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people only. Your role As the Assistant Project Officer, you will be the central coordination point for a range of policy and project administration activities. You will help ensure projects remain organised, reporting is up to date, records are maintained and stakeholders receive timely responses. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, managing competing priorities and contributing to meaningful outcomes for Aboriginal communities. What you’ll do Coordinate and maintain the Housing Policy team's Monday.com project boards. Manage and monitor the AHO Policy, Closing the Gap (CTG) and Housing Policy Project (HPP) mailboxes. Coordinate Executive Officer (EO) requests across the Housing Policy team and monitor completion of actions. Maintain and track the AHO Annual Policy Schedule and key project milestones. Ensure monthly Policy Progress Reporting is accurate, current and submitted on time. Arrange team meetings, prepare agendas and coordinate meeting logistics. Coordinate team travel bookings and related administrative requirements. Maintain accurate TRIM records and support compliance with recordkeeping requirements. Raise purchase order requests and assist with processing invoices and payments. Support the Housing Policy Manager with administrative, governance and project coordination activities. Prepare reports, project updates, registers, correspondence and other documentation required to support policy projects. Assist Senior Policy Officers with project administration, consultation activities and implementation support. What we’re looking for We are looking for someone who: Has strong organisational and administrative skills. Can manage multiple tasks and competing priorities while meeting deadlines. Has experience maintaining reports, registers, databases or project tracking systems. Demonstrates excellent attention to detail and recordkeeping skills. Is confident working with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, TRIM and project management systems. Has strong written and verbal communication skills. Enjoys working collaboratively and supporting a high-performing team. Is committed to improving outcomes for Aboriginal people and communities.
