Founding Engineer

ABOUT THE ROLE This is a founding-stage full-stack engineering role at an early-stage energy software company building an end-to-end platform for industrial battery storage. You will own core product across the entire stack, directly shaping both the technology and the company's trajectory. The work touches real-time optimization, AI-driven forecasting, and infrastructure that manages significant energy assets across Europe. WHAT YOU'LL DO - Own and build the core product driving real-time optimization and forecasting for industrial energy assets. - Develop backend services and mixed-integer optimization algorithms to process data in real time. - Create frontend dashboards that allow battery operators to monitor and control their assets. - Design and scale cloud infrastructure to support thousands of battery systems. - Collaborate across functions to define product features and translate deployment feedback into improvements. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR - Up to five years of full-stack engineering experience, including production applications. - Strong frontend skills with JavaScript/TypeScript, React (Next.js preferred), and Tailwind CSS. - Solid backend experience with Python, including optimization or forecasting systems. - Experience with cloud infrastructure such as AWS, GCP, or Azure. - Background in a fast-paced startup environment (small team, early stage). - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Electrical Engineering with strong academic results. - Fluency or near-fluency in German, as the primary customer base is German-speaking. - Experience deploying optimizations or real-time data processing systems in production is a strong plus. - Prior exposure to the energy industry is a plus. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Salary range: 70,000 to 100,000 EUR annually. Visa sponsorship is available. LOCATION On-site, five days per week in Munich, Bavaria, Germany.
