Shape investment decisions that impact 1.8 million Aucklanders Drive property strategy at one of NZ's largest organisations Lead strategy for a $70 billion public property and asset portfolio He angitūtanga: The opportunity Auckland Council holds a property asset portfolio valued at $70 billion — one of the largest and most consequential public asset bases in New Zealand. How well the capital is managed has a direct bearing on the council's financial sustainability and on the value Aucklanders receive from the assets they collectively own. Reporting to the GM Commercial and Property, the Head of Property Analytics and Optimisation will lead a newly created unit — the engine room behind the council's property decisions. Bringing together specialist property data, portfolio strategy, performance and optimisation expertise from across the council group, the unit will hold the technical, commercial and valuation data for the council's entire portfolio, using it to inform robust advice on leasing, investment and disposal decisions. You will be accountable for executing the departmental Delivery Plan — translating priorities into clear direction for kaimahi and supporting teams to deliver within their agreed scope and resources.If you want your analysis to shape decisions that outlast any single project — and to build the evidence engine behind one of the country's biggest public property portfolios — this is the role for you. To view full position description: click here He kōrero mōu: About you Some key capabilities and experience needed to be successful in this role are: Extensive experience in senior roles across property, asset management, analytics, investment, or strategy Skilled relationship building skills with a commitment to community outcomes and Te Tiriti o Waitangi. Demonstrated leadership of enterprise-scale planning, analytics, or optimisation programmes Proven experience providing advice to executive leadership and elected members in politically sensitive environments Strong commercial and financial acumen with business case expertise.
