Network Operations Center (NOC) Engineer

OverviewInabia is seeking a skilled Network Operations Center (NOC) Engineer to monitor, support, and maintain mission-critical network and telecommunications infrastructure on a 12-month contract basis in Omaha, NE. This is a fully onsite, shift-based role covering 2nd Shift (3:15 PM – 11:15 PM CDT) or 3rd Shift (11:15 PM – 7:15 AM CDT). The position is focused on network monitoring, incident management, connectivity troubleshooting, and ensuring high system availability across enterprise and operational technology environments.ResponsibilitiesMonitor and support enterprise and OT network infrastructurePerform network fault detection, troubleshooting, and incident resolutionSupport microwave radio communication and backhaul systemsCoordinate with telecom vendors, ISPs, and third-party providersManage incidents, escalations, and SLA-driven service restorationSupport Linux-based systems and applicationsExecute maintenance activities, upgrades, and configuration changesCreate incident reports and root cause analysis (RCA) documentationParticipate in shift-based and on-call operationsKey Qualifications3+ years of experience in NOC, Network Operations, Telecom, ISP, or Network Support environmentsStrong knowledge of TCP/IP, Routing & Switching, VLANs, DNS/DHCP, and VPNsHands-on troubleshooting experience with routers, switches, firewalls, and WAN connectivityExperience supporting Telecom Carrier, ISP, or Enterprise NetworksLinux administration and troubleshooting experienceSolid understanding of Incident Management, Problem Management, and Root Cause AnalysisStrong communication and documentation skillsProficiency with network monitoring toolsPreferred QualificationsExperience in railway, transportation, or critical infrastructure environmentsKnowledge of Positive Train Control (PTC), Centralized Traffic Control (CTC), Rail Communication Networks, and SCADA/OT environmentsExperience with SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios, Zabbix, or similar monitoring platformsCertifications: CCNA/CCNP, CompTIA Network+, RHCSA/LPIC/Linux+
