Quarry Operator

In this role, you'll: Work within our Engineering and Maintenance Team at Sydney Trains, the primary purpose of the Quarry Operator position is to safely and efficiently operate quarry plant and equipment to support the achievement of production targets. You will be responsible for operating a range of quarry equipment, including fixed and mobile processing plant, as well as heavy machinery such as front-end loaders, haul trucks and other mobile plant. You will work safely and efficiently as part of a team and, at times, with minimal supervision, ensuring work is completed within established time, quality and cost requirements. You will undertake training and development within a competency-based extractive and engineering environment to build your skills and meet business requirements. You will carry out safety responsibilities, authorities and accountabilities in line with Sydney Trains' policies and procedures, applying the appropriate competencies and skills at all times. You will be working Tuesday to Thursday between 6:30am and 5:00pm and Friday 6:30am to 5:00pm, with Overtime worked as required. The role is based at Bombo Quarry in the Illawarra region. About you You're someone with experience in a quarry, mining, civil construction or heavy industrial environment and have the capability to meet the physical requirements of the role. You'll hold a current Class C Driver Licence and have experience operating heavy plant and equipment, such as front-end loaders, excavators, haul trucks or similar machinery. You're reliable, safety-focused and work well in a team environment. Most importantly, you take safety seriously and are committed to following safe work practices every day.
