You’ll lead the development of Powerlink’s IT strategy, enterprise architecture and technology roadmaps, translating business needs, emerging technologies and risk into clear strategic direction and investment priorities. You’ll set the architectural direction for delivery teams and technology partners, while providing trusted advice to senior leaders. With broad influence across Business IT, you’ll lead architecture capability spanning enterprise, data, application, integration, security and infrastructure domains. You'll be responsible for managing architecture capacity and utilisation across the portfolio, ensuring the right skills and expertise are effectively allocated to strategic initiatives and delivery outcomes. This includes coordinating internal architecture resources and leveraging specialist contractors and external partners where required. You’ll establish architecture principles, standards and assurance processes, ensuring technology decisions are secure, resilient and aligned with Powerlink’s strategic priorities. As a provider of critical infrastructure, Powerlink relies on this role to ensure architectural decisions are demonstrably aligned with approved architectural principles and support compliance with obligations under the Security of Critical Infrastructure Act 2018 and the Australian Energy Sector Cyber Security Framework (AESCSF). You’ll also help shape our IT/OT environment, contribute to investment planning, manage technology lifecycle and technical debt, and assess emerging technologies including artificial intelligence. The people you'll join: Reporting to the Manager- IT Strategic Architecture, Engagement & Assurance, you’ll join Powerlink’s Business IT & Digital Delivery team, working alongside a group of technology professionals responsible for shaping and delivering the organisation’s digital and technology capabilities. You’ll lead a team that brings together specialist expertise across enterprise, data, application, integration, security and infrastructure architecture, working collaboratively with business stakeholders, delivery teams and technology partners to support Powerlink’s strategic priorities. What you'll bring: Degree qualification in a Business or Information Technology or related discipline, OR a lesser qualification coupled with significant relevant experience in the development, design and delivery of complex IT environments. Current enterprise architecture certification at practitioner level (e.g. TOGAF 10 Enterprise Architecture Practitioner or equivalent), or equivalent demonstrated experience leading an established architecture practice. You’ll bring significant experience in enterprise, solution and domain architecture, with a demonstrated ability to develop and implement enterprise and target-state architectures, standards and governance frameworks within complex technology environments. You'll have experience leading multidisciplinary specialist teams and developing high-performing architecture capability, while effectively partnering with internal and external subject matter experts. Your strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills will enable you to translate complex technical, business, security and risk considerations into clear, actionable advice for executive, business and technical audiences. You’ll be comfortable balancing strategic priorities with delivery requirements while maintaining architectural integrity and ensuring technology investments deliver business value. Strong knowledge of cyber security, technology risk and resilience, including secure-by-design principles, identity and access management, network segregation, privileged access and data protection will be critical.
