Job description
To support the growth of the Securitisation (SSG) business across Australia and APAC through the origination, execution, monitoring and development of securitisation and structured finance transactions. The role is responsible for conducting financial analysis, credit assessment, transaction execution, portfolio monitoring and supporting business and product development initiatives, while ensuring adherence to internal policies, risk management frameworks and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities Financial Performance & Business Goals Deliver financial and non-financial performance targets in line with the company’s risk management and compliance policies and standards. Promote securitisation and structured finance business across marketing, origination and distribution activities. Support transaction execution, closing processes and ongoing monitoring for assigned transactions. Prepare term sheets, offer letters and financing proposals. Conduct documentation-related due diligence and prepare relevant reports. Review loan agreements, security documents and related transaction documentation, and liaise with legal counsel where required. Review due diligence reports and other independent third-party reports required for the distribution of loan products. Conduct credit analysis, market analysis, financial analysis and cash flow modelling in support of new and existing transactions. Prepare credit submissions and supporting materials for internal approval processes. Conduct research and prepare reports as required by management. Perform any other tasks assigned by management. Client Service Management Coordinate with SPDA, branch teams, relevant Head Office departments, other SMBC branches and SMBC Group companies to provide value-added services to clients. Research market conditions, laws and regulations relevant to the business area, and provide necessary information to relevant stakeholders. Support new projects, new product development and process improvement initiatives. Work collaboratively as “TEAM SMBC/SMFG” to achieve a high level of trust and service for clients, colleagues and other stakeholders. Collect necessary data and information to support marketing activities and transaction execution. Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Risk Management Analyse credit risks relating to underlying assets and transaction structures, and support appropriate credit application and monitoring processes. Monitor portfolio performance and take necessary actions in response to potential deterioration in credit quality. Support compliance with risk management frameworks, policies and procedures relevant to the business. Present clear and well-supported credit analysis to internal stakeholders where required. Compliance, Administration & Internal Processes Understand and maintain internal compliance requirements. Comply with applicable regulatory, company and branch policies and procedures. Support effective documentation, reporting and administrative processes. Job Requirements 0–5 years’ experience; fresh graduates are also welcome. Experience in securitisation, ABS, structured finance, credit products, or an origination team within a bank or financial institution is strongly preferred. Tertiary qualification in a business-related field. Motivated, intellectually curious and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Team player with the ability to manage internal and external stakeholder relationships. Good knowledge of financial products. Solid understanding of financial statements and the ability to analyse and interpret financial performance. Comprehensive understanding of banking practices and the role of credit within a bank. High level of numeracy and strong financial analysis skills, including the ability to conduct financial modelling. Basic understanding of legal documentation and financing terms. Accuracy and strong attention to detail. Strong written and verbal communication skills at a business level, including the ability to prepare business reports and credit papers. Strong time management and organisational skills. Influencing skills, including the ability to present persuasive written arguments and respond effectively to questions or objections. Ability to condense complex issues into a clear and readable format in reports and other communications. Ability to interpret and follow procedures. Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel. Special Requirements Some domestic and overseas travel may be required. Ability to work to tight timeframes. Flexibility in working hours.
